Ethos

The ethos of St Fin Barre’s National School is in accordance with the Deed of Variation which states that the Board of Management “…shall make and keep themselves familiar with the ethos (being the doctrines, moral teachings, traditions, practices and customs of the Church of Ireland as defined by the General Synod thereof from time to time) insofar as the same relates to education and schools, and shall manage and cause the school to be managed in a manner which will uphold and foster the ethos, and shall not do anything or permit anything to be done in relation to the school, or the management thereof, which would be likely to have a detrimental effect on the ethos in the school…”

The Church of Ireland Bishop of Cork, Cloyne and Ross is the Patron of St Fin Barre’s N.S.

The pupils are encouraged to take part in the annual Christmas Carol Service, pre-Easter Palm Service and end of year service held in Saint Fin Barre’s Cathedral.
